⚡ Quick Answers for Indian Travellers
How quickly can I get my Bali visa from India?
12 business hours with Express. Priority is 48 hours, Standard is 72 hours. Most Indian families pick Priority for the comfort of cushion before flight day. Express is for last-minute bookings out of BOM, DEL, or BLR.
Why do Indians go to Indonesia?
Mostly Bali, especially for honeymoons. Indians come for Bali's Hindu cultural alignment (Indonesia's only Hindu-majority province), Diwali-week weather, family-friendly resorts in Seminyak and Nusa Dua, and easy vegetarian dining. Jakarta is rising for business.
What payment methods do you accept from India?
Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners, and RuPay International all accepted. Charge is in USD through a US-based payment processor. UPI and domestic-only RuPay are not currently supported. The cleanest path is any internationally enabled credit card.

⚠️ Heading to Bali? Don't forget the Bali Tourism Levy
If your itinerary includes Bali, the Bali provincial government charges a separate IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) tourism levy on entry. This is not the same as your Indonesia visa, and we don't collect it. Pay it directly on lovebali.baliprov.go.id before you fly, or at the airport kiosk on arrival. Your eVOA covers Indonesian immigration; the levy covers Bali's local tourism fund.

Indonesia travel tips for Indian travellers
The small things that make a Bali trip from India go smoothly.
Best months for Bali
April to October is dry season, ideal for beaches and Ubud. Avoid Nyepi (Bali's day of silence, late March) when the entire island, including the airport, closes for 24 hours. Diwali week is fine, weather is shoulder-season.
Best India routes to DPS
1-stop: Singapore Airlines / Scoot via SIN, AirAsia via KUL, Malaysia Airlines via KUL, Garuda via SIN, Cathay via HKG. From Mumbai 8 to 10 hours total, Delhi 9 to 11 hours, Bengaluru and Chennai 8 to 10 hours.
Flight time
Plan 8 to 12 hours door to door from major Indian metros. Mumbai to Denpasar via Singapore is the fastest practical route at around 8 hours flying. KLM and Emirates routes via DXB or AMS are longer (14+ hours) but useful for Tier-2 cities.
Tips reflect typical conditions for Indian passport holders. Always check current advice at mea.gov.in before you fly.
Common Indonesia eVisa questions from Indian travellers
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers. If it is not here, see our full FAQ.
Yes. Indian passport holders need a visa to enter Indonesia for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Bali is a province of Indonesia (Bali to Jakarta is roughly like Goa to Mumbai), so the same eVOA applies whether you fly into Denpasar, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, or Lombok.
All-in USD pricing: Standard $99 (72 business hours), Priority $139 (48 hours), Express $179 (12 hours). One transparent price per traveller, no extras at checkout. Whether your card adds a foreign-transaction fee on USD purchases depends on your card and bank policy.
No. The eVOA approval rate for Indian passport holders sits in the 97 to 98% range when paperwork is correct. The most common rejection reasons we see: passport validity under 6 months from arrival, photo not matching the official spec, missing return ticket, hotel address mismatch. Our pre-submission review catches all four.
Use the page that matches your passport, not your OCI status. OCI cardholders travelling on a US, UK, Canadian, Australian, or other passport from the eVOA list should apply with that passport. The OCI card has no bearing on Indonesian visa eligibility, only your travel document does.
Yes. Indonesia issues one eVOA per traveller regardless of age. Infants on lap, children, and senior citizens all need their own application against their own passport. We process the whole family in one checkout and review each application individually.
Yes for major tourist areas: Bali, Lombok, Yogyakarta, Jakarta. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has no advisory against Indonesia. Standard precautions apply: watch valuables on busy beaches, rent a car-with-driver rather than scooter for family groups.
Yes. Bali is the only Hindu-majority province of Indonesia, with widely available vegetarian options in Ubud, Seminyak, and Canggu. Indian restaurants (Queen's Tandoor, Cinnamon, Bombay Bliss) serve the main tourist areas. Beef is uncommon on Bali specifically because of Hindu tradition.
The eVOA is valid 90 days from the date of issue, which is your window to enter Indonesia. Once you arrive, you can stay 30 days. Single entry. Extendable once in-country for another 30 days (60 days total).
Singapore: most Indian passport holders can transit visa-free in the international zone for under 24 hours. If you exit airside or have a longer layover, check the latest ICA Singapore rules. Kuala Lumpur: KLIA international transit is visa-free if you stay airside. The Indonesia eVOA covers your entry into Indonesia, not transit through other countries.
No, they are separate. The eVOA is your entry visa to Indonesia. The Bali Tourism Levy is a separate IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) fee charged by the Bali provincial government. We do not collect or process the levy. Pay it at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before flying or at the airport on arrival.
Yes. The eVOA can be extended once in-country for another 30 days, bringing your total stay to 60 days. Extensions require an online filing plus an in-person biometric appointment at a local Indonesian immigration office. We can organise the extension when you are ready.
We recommend 3 to 5 days before your flight. Processing is 12 to 72 business hours depending on the tier you choose. For last-minute bookings (sudden family wedding, urgent business meeting), Express delivers within 12 business hours and is the safe call.
Denials are rare (around 2%) thanks to our pre-submission expert review. If your application is declined by Indonesian immigration, we will walk you through the reason and advise on whether a re-application is sensible. See our refund policy for full details.
