The eVOA is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, that is your window to enter Indonesia. Once you arrive, you can stay 30 days. Single entry. Extendable once in-country for another 30 days (60 days total).

The eVOA is fully active at Ngurah Rai (Bali / DPS) and Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta / CGK), the two airports most US travelers use. It is also accepted at additional authorized airports, seaports, and land border crossings across Indonesia.

Two practical tips: call your bank before you fly so they don't lock the card for "suspicious foreign activity," and pick a card with no foreign-transaction fee for the trip.

If you stay airside (inside the international transit area at the airport, never passing through immigration) you generally do not need an Indonesian visa. If you exit immigration for any reason, including overnight layovers in Jakarta or Bali, you do need a visa. The eVOA covers transit purposes, so when in doubt, get the eVOA. It is the safer call than missing your onward flight over a paperwork mistake.

No, they are separate. The eVOA is your entry visa to Indonesia. The Bali Tourism Levy is a separate IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) fee charged by the province of Bali to all international visitors. We do not collect or process the levy. Pay it directly at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before you fly, or at the airport on arrival.

Yes. The eVOA can be extended once in-country for an additional 30 days, bringing your total stay to 60 days. Since May 2025, extensions require both an online filing and an in-person biometric appointment at a local Indonesian immigration office. We can help with the extension when you are ready.
