The Japanese MOFA travel advisory (mofa.go.jp) lists most of Indonesia, including Bali, Lombok, Java, and Yogyakarta, at the standard tourist-zone caution level. Bali receives substantial Japanese visitor traffic. Standard precautions apply for solo female travellers (registered transport such as Bluebird and Grab, well-lit accommodation areas, conservative dress at temples).

The eVOA is valid 90 days from the date of issue, which is your window to enter Indonesia. Once you arrive, you can stay 30 days. Single entry. Extendable once in-country for another 30 days (60 days total).

Japanese passport holders can transit Singapore visa-free for short layovers and Hong Kong visa-free in the international zone. The Indonesia eVOA covers your entry into Indonesia, not transit through other countries.

No, they are separate. The eVOA is your entry visa to Indonesia. The Bali Tourism Levy is a separate IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) fee charged by the Bali provincial government. We do not collect or process the levy. Pay it at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before flying or at DPS on arrival.

Yes. The eVOA can be extended once in-country for another 30 days, total stay 60 days. Extensions require an online filing plus an in-person biometric appointment at a local Indonesian immigration office. We can help organise the extension when you are ready.

We recommend 3 to 5 days before your flight. Processing is 12 to 72 business hours. For Golden Week or Shogatsu peak windows, applying earlier is sensible because everyone else also waits until the last week.
