Indonesia eVisa for UAE Citizens

Yes. UAE passport holders need a visa for tourism, business, family travel, or transit through immigration. Bali is a province of Indonesia (in the way Dubai is one of seven emirates of the UAE), so the same eVOA applies whether you land at Denpasar (DPS), Jakarta (CGK), Yogyakarta (YIA), or Lombok (LOP). UAE is on the official 86-country eVOA list.

The eVOA is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, which is your window to enter Indonesia. Once you arrive, you can stay 30 days. Single entry. Extendable once in-country for another 30 days, taking total stay to 60 days.

The eVOA is fully active at Ngurah Rai (Bali / DPS) and Soekarno-Hatta (Jakarta / CGK), the two airports nearly all Emirates and Etihad UAE itineraries route through. It is also accepted at Yogyakarta (YIA), Surabaya (SUB), Lombok (LOP), Manado, Medan, Batam, Bintan, and other authorised entry points.

MOFAIC lists most tourist zones, including Bali, Lombok, Yogyakarta, and Java, with no specific advisory against travel. Remote regions in Papua and parts of Sulawesi may carry separate notices. Register with the UAE embassy in Jakarta for extended stays.

Travel insurance is not required, but most premium UAE credit-card travel cover is limited and capped on medical evacuation. A medical evacuation from Bali can run into the tens of thousands of dollars, so most UAE travellers add an Orient, Sukoon, AXA Gulf, or Allianz cover.

Domestic helpers travelling with UAE families need their own eVOA based on their own nationality (Filipina, Indian, Sri Lankan, Indonesian, etc.), not yours. We can process applications for the most common helper nationalities in the same booking; just add each traveller individually with their own passport. Each application is its own fee.

If you stay airside in the international transit area without passing immigration, you do not need an Indonesian visa. If you exit immigration in Indonesia for any reason, including overnight layovers in Jakarta or Bali, you do. The eVOA covers transit purposes too.

No, they are separate. The eVOA is your entry visa to Indonesia. The Bali Tourism Levy is a separate IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) fee charged by the province of Bali to all international visitors. We do not collect or process the levy. Pay it directly at lovebali.baliprov.go.id.

Apply 3 to 5 days before your flight. Processing takes 12 to 72 business hours depending on tier. Around Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, the December school break, and UAE National Day weekends, applying a week ahead is sensible because last-minute volume spikes alongside flight prices.
